After 30 days of the course: no money will be refunded. See Cancellation Insurance below.
Insurance
Medical
All students should have adequate coverage for the possibility of a medical emergency. Canadian students should ensure premiums are paid before attending COLT. Foreign students should purchase insurance through an insurance broker before they leave.
Cancellation
Although injuries and illnesses are rare, students in the past have had to drop out of the program in the past. We have also had two students get hurt before they even arrived and had to withdraw before the course even started. We reserve the right to keep all deposits, so trip insurance is a way to safeguard your investment. Keep in mind that should you withdraw from our course for any reason, we have a refund policy that does provide a partial refund, but it is not a full refund and after Day 30, we provide no refund.
If you are interested in insurance to protect all your course fees in case of injury or illness, we suggest you contact your insurance agent. Make sure you stipulate that you are interested in protecting your course fees – your two deposits and balance of fees due on Day 1 – as most travel insurance just covers potential loss of hotel fees, airline tickets, etc. We have worked with Travel Underwriters Insurance in the past and they can help you get trip cancellation/trip interruption insurance from them. The costs range from $300 and up to protect your full $12,000 investment.
Keep in mind that if we cancel a course, we would always refund any payments made to us, so you are protecting your tuition and food/accommodation fees from a possible injury or illness that would prevent you from continuing with the course or attending it at all should you get hurt or ill before the start.
